    Default decent cast?

I'm just getting into fly fishing and I'm just wondering how about what length is a decent cast? As it stands now, I'm guessing my casts are around 15/20 feet. I'm sure that would work for smaller mountain streams or creeks but for rivers like the American or Sacramento it doesn't seem like that would get the job done...

A fly fishing club is a good way to learn about fly fishing, they also offer casting class.......a good cast is one that catch's a fish.

If you look up John Hogg of the Granite Bay Flycasters Club he will help you with you casting for free before the meetings.
