    Default Blood Midge......Lake Davis

I been playing with this simple Blood Midge pattern tied with a body of UV2 Red dubbing and CDC Cul-De-Canard, color ginger hackle, hook 100SPBL size 10 Tiemco.

Fish this fly with a floating line and a long leader, it will float for a few seconds then sink very slow while striping it back.

There are lots of blood midges coming off in the morning and late afternoon at Davis Lake, be sure you have your favorite blood midge pattern when you go to Lake Davis.

That looks very tasty Gene...the winds have died down up here and once we get through this holiday weekend I'm hoping to run into some good sight fishing over at Davis.
Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.
