Default A Few You Might Want To Try

For some reason, I usually don't even know/remember authors' names of the books I read, unless they're famous or I liked their books or styles so much that it led me to read more of their books. That's the case with Timothy Egan.

I highly recommend The Worst Hard Time and Short Nights Of The Shadow Catcher.
But hearing of the tragic death of Firefighter Ruhl today made me think of another Timothy Egan book that the readers on this forum would enjoy, The Big Burn.

My favorite books are those that both entertain and educate. Now if I could just figure out how to retain in my brain what I've read. My brain is like an Etch-A-Sketch - I read, learn, then someting rips up the brain layer and it's gone.

At least I remembered the names of the books (I think).

So trust me and read The Big Burn.

I second the recommendation of "The Big Burn." Excellent and educational book.

I spent 3 summers in my youth as a firefighter with CDF, so I could relate.

    Enjoy,
    Harlan
