This is a great idea for a clinic. Good job lance and Jon....I have always said the Yuba is a "deceptively friendly wading river" and to get at the numbers of fish that most would like, having the ability to fish out of a floatation device is key...I routinely look at my top producing spots or a day guiding and where i catch my fish and I bet 90-95% of the spots on most days are not spots that an angler could wade fish but could access from a pontoon while drifting or on anchor.

    Hey Lance and Jon,

I have an 8ft Creek Company ODC 816 Pontoon, is that going to be to small for this clinic on the Yuba? I have yet to use it because I'm not confident in my skill to maneuver it through tight situations on a river.

That will work Travis. 9 foot boats are nice. But I just looked yours up - I see no problems with it!! Do you want to join in the fun?

Thanks Hogan - you are spot on. I see the same thing over and over in my guiding also!

Sure sign me up Lance, I wish the class was sooner so I'd be trained enough to use my pontoon throughout the summer, but I guess September is not that far away.

    Folks,

We still have a couple of spots left for this event. It's going to be a great day of instruction, BBQ and fishing!

Let either Jon or me know if you would like to join us!!

    Thanks

    Happy July 4th!

This is going to be such a great event. We have four people for the event and we can use a couple more. In fact we can take four more. There will be three guides for all eight people. With great instruction and great food - this event will turn into a early event. So if you're looking to explore the Yuba and break into drifting with your pontoon or boat come join us.
