    Default Putah Creek- Spring 2015

    Hey All,

Putah Creek is fishing very well this Spring with many large fish being caught. Indicator fishing with midges is the most reliable option although streamers will bring exciting grabs and produce as well. Dry-fly fishing is an option in select spots with fish rising to midges and mayflies.

Are NZ. Mud snails still a present? I guess all the worry about them was mostly hype? I'm not sure how they affect the food supply or how they endanger trout but doesn't seem to be much of a problem!

Still plenty of mud snails at spot #3. I found three on my boots after a recent trip.

Interestingly a few days in the refrigerator (not the freezer) killed the snails.
