    Cool Balsa Poppers....

Good shapes for the bodies. I'd like to see the final product. Have you considered a Bubblehead shape as one for Bass???

Balsa popper bodies are my favorite but I find myself using soft foam for poppers more because they're available and easy to use.

    Darian,

right now I am going for a regular popper, a frog body popper, and an all terrain frog pattern. I am going to try and have a the hook riding up on the all terrain fly then I can fish it over matts etc.. This is just the start and yeah a bubble-head idea is in the mix for future. They are time consuming but I am cool with that. Gives me something to do while I watch Giants games.

Will definitely post up the finished products. it crazy cause I don't know what kind of action they will have till they are done, anticipation is up there.

    Default Balsa Poppers....

Really like the popper in the middle. Gotta have those eyes facing forward. Out of curiosity, did you consider cupping the face of the popper on the left???

    Darian,

I did think about it. The thing that has torn me away from that was the original Balsa I was given had a flat face and it gave it more of a wiggle action rather than a popper action. So these are purely experimental right now. However I am hoping to mimic the side to side wiggle type action, and if I don't get it then I will cup the face on the next one. It will push some water for sure and I won't know what its going to do till i fish it. worst case its a simple process to grind it out then repaint.

Thanks on the middle one this will be my All terrain/matt fly going to have it hook riding up.

Will keep posting as it goes
