Silver Fork?

Weather is looking good for the weekend. Was wondering if anyone has Intel on Silver Fork American? Is Silver Fork Road open? Is the snow gone? Was thinking of taking the kids camping, and doing a little "dispersed" camping along SFR above China Camp (close enough to use the RR).

Take a thermometer with you and report the temperature.

If it is under 50 degrees it might be a little slow with flies.

Dead drift nymphing on the slower edges in the afternoon might be a plan.

The snow never was.

It's open throughout it's length.

Watch the water temps as Bill says though. Might be a little chilly this week.

As with my fishing the last year or so...flash in the pan. Honey do's caught up with me

Fished it around trout opener two years in a row 2013 and 2014 and water was bone chilling and fish where not present using multiple techniques with two seasoned anglers. Went back a few weeks later and it was excellent as the water warmed. If you aren't seeing fish within a few hours and are looking to get some action it might not hurt to have a backup plan for your second night of camping. If zero fish is fine then as you probably know it's a beautiful spot with plenty to do like hiking up other feeder creeks nearby or 4 wheeler some of the back roads.
