Default For sale: Jack B Schneider vintage bamboo rod $250

This is a sweet bamboo fly rod my uncle gave me. It's a 2 piece and pretty cool. It has an extra second piece.

It is 8ft in length, there is a number on it: 118

That's all I know, do not know what weight it is. Both top section pieces fit nicely, the finish is in good condition.

It's in great shape asking $250

    Default Bamboo Rod....

What length is this rod?? Does it have a line rating for it?? (Should appear on the rod just above the grip) What condition are the ferrules in?? do they fit together tightly?? How does the rod finish appear, worn or still fresh??? Describe the reel seat for us.

    Thanx....

Rich, do you still have the Jack Schneider rod or have you sold it? I’m doing research to write a book about Jack Schneider and am interested in acquiring one of his rods or sny stiries about him that anyone else has. Thanks , Richard Landerman

Over my 50 years in the fishing tackle business, I saw thousands of old split cane fly rods.

90% of them were 9' long in 3 pieces with one extra tip section.

Anything shorter was usually a more special rod.....

8' long in 2 pieces with an extra tip sounds good.

This rod could be for a 5, 6 or 7 fly line.

Looks like a good value to me.

This thread is from almost 10 years ago. The rod was sold long ago.
There are few things in life more pleasing than the sublime marriage of form and function that is found in a well crafted fly rod.
