Default Anyone know anything about old Rain-beau flylines?

I have an old Rain-beau "Glasline" fly line that dates to the late 1950's that I'm curious about. Belonged to my dad who used it for steelhead and shad fishing. I suspect it was purchased in Russ Peak's shop in Pasadena, as dad bought all his tackle there. The original box and plastic spool. The label says "GLASS FIBRE FLY LINE, LIGHT, 40 YARDS". I've researched a bit, but haven't come up with anything.

I searched "Rain-beau fly line" on Google and all sorts of things popped up.

Mr. Google comes up with several references, but none of them specifically address fly lines. Mostly Ebay listings for old Rain-Beau ads.

Never heard of it. I'd be surprised if it's not like old school silk.
"For years, every time he stopped at the house to collect his paper money, it was the same routine. The old man in the wheelchair would ask him how he'd like it if he took him fishing and showed him a few things. He always said he'd like that.
When the old man finally passed away, his wife gave the kid a box of flies. He has them today, tucked away in a closet, never to be fished."
