    Default Fishing in Phoenix Area

    I'm heading to Phoenix for bachelor party in early April.
    Is there any fishing in the area?

    You might still be able to catch some stockers from the winter plantings in the Salt River then. Otherwise for trout there isn't anything closer than a few hours away. You can fish the Phoenix area reservoirs for warm water fish, but you'll need watercraft. Compared to other Western States, for trout, Arizona is Fly-Fisherman's Hell.

    Phoenix has some great fishing for carp and Koi in the city. do a google search and you can find a guide to get you going. I did it last year and had a blast while there for spring training baseball games. Mike

    NVswitch is right on the carp and koi and April is good time for that here. All of the canals in the valley have them, as do most of the ponds. Fast sinking egg patterns, leeches and most other carp patterns will work. Here is a recent discussion on carp fishing for AZ visitors:
