    Default American Steelhead?

Any action lately? Haven't been out for a few weeks and was hoping the rains would have brought in some of the big boys. Thinking of going out this weekend.

I've been doing some searching since November, bumped into a few half pounders and that's been it. Not hearing anything else either. Some people seem to think that they are just going to run really late this year.

Let's see, so far I have caught three, ah, ah, ah snagged sucker, a snagged 1\4 pounder, and spent 10 minutes fighting a 25 pond salmon carcass, but I keep trying... it is a matter of time before chrome strikes. Don't give up!

When people don't talk on here about the American, usually take that as a sign the fish have started moving in.

I've been out about once a week since late November and haven't had more than a bump. Last week saw a fish jump that we thought might have been an adult steelhead or a small salmon still in good condition, who knows.

Drove over the AR on Bus80 and the river looked flat and swollen, I had heard a few days back that the high flows on the sac have caused the AR to back up...so I wonder how that might influence the timing of the run? If the river isn't flowing freely through the confluence then are we missing the trigger for the run to move upstream?

Ive caught adults in that river in november. The river is 25 miles long. All of us together probly dont cover even 1% of the river. Your all just in the wrong spot. They are there..... just laughing

Today my bed ended up being the right time and place for 11 hours of sleep instead of fishing. If there are any good reports from this morning I'm going to ignore them.

I've never fished the opener for the winter run. (jan 1). Is it a complete circus out there on the American? Last thing I want is combat fishing. Am I better off to wait for weekday when the holidays are over?
