    Question Winter Time Stripers

Here's a few pictures of some stripers taken upriver in January and February. Gotta fish them slow in 50 degree dirty water but they're here if we get the water.

Hopefully this rain will get things going and we'll have a nice start to the coming year. Jan. and Feb. can be good if you're willing to brave the cold. By March and April the main run is in full swing.

    Nice fish Tony

I'm a striper pig hunter/addict too but my interests are divided...

I give stripers 9 months of my fishing year and the other 3 go to steelhead.

You're fortunate to have a resource that gets larger numbers of stripes and an earlier migration of spawners.

If the Feather/Upper Sac was my haunts, I'd probably fish stripers in the winter.

The luxury of doing so is very little competition from other anglers and the greater likelihood that when you hook one it'll be 30-50 lbs.

    Good fish!

Some motivation to get out in the elements, for sure.

    Best,
