    Default Russian River

Momma and I are going to do some RVing on the Russian River near Cloverdale then on to Bodega Bay for a week around the 7th to 16th of November. I would like to do some steelhead fishing but know nothing about the area. Can somebody help a fellow American down on his luck with some info as to where to fish and what flies. I have only fished the American for steel with my 6wt and 7wt so far. Any info from the vast pool of knowledge here would be greatly appreciated.

I would be surprised if there were any steelhead to be found in the Russian that time of year. Usually it takes a good storm or two to wash out the sand sprit at the mouth allowing them to enter the system. Sadly, even when conditions are good the Russian is no longer a productive place to fish for steelhead with few caught during any given season. The Russian can be decent for smallmouth if that is an acceptable alternative.
You will have a very nice time anyway seeing some beautiful N. Calif costal scenery.

    Fly,
Thanks for the info. Can't blame a boy for trying.
