    Default Looking at escaping the heat

    Have a small travel trailer and looking for a nice little campground or spot to escape the heat within 1 to 3 hrs from Sacramento during the week and catch a few trout in the morning hours before the water warms just looking for ideas ...thanks in advance...Jeff

    Drove up to Tahoe today. It was 87 at Silver Fork around 3 o'clock. Lake level is 85 plus. Pretty severe thunder storms from kirkwood and east along 88. Thunderheads are primarily on the east side. It ain't pretty.

    Try hwy 4. Lake Alpine is always nice. Nearby are the Highlands Lakes, and the Moke is a nice skinny stream along the road to the lakes. The NF Stan on the road to Spicer is another option. You can also shoot (slowly) over the pass to the EF Carson if weather permits.

    On Carson Pass, try Woods Lake.
