    Default Which switch line

I have a Ross Reach 6113 switch rod and I am looking for a Skagit line for it. I am thinking to start with a 350 gr. Which line (make and model) do you guys recommend, I am thinking a short designed for the switch rods. This 6 wt is going to be used for smallies and some steelhead. Thanks, Scott

I fish and teach with the Sage X-Axis Switch rod for a 6wt. I cast a 425 gr short Rio Skagit with the Rio running line behind it. It's a rocket!

I am thinking you might be two light at 350 gr. Just my two cents.

If you're around my neck of the woods. I have every Rio Short Skagit (full set) you can see which on works best.

This is one of the things I will have at the Big Water Workshop that Jon and I are doing on August 25. Check it out.

    Thanks

350 grain Skagit is my "go to" head on that rod for the past 5 years. As a person who likes heavier loads than recommended for many switch and spey rods, I have found ultimate casting potential and control with 350 grains on that particular rod...

Would agree with the 350 grain. Check out Rio's Skagit Max Short.

We mostly use Rio 10 foot MOW tips on the Skagit heads.
