It's been a while, but I used to catch carp near Putah Creek where it ran though UC Davis. Take Old Davis Road south of the campus until you hit Putah Creek. I would imagine that there would also be carp at the Arboretum on campus, but I never tried fishing there (or even know if it's allowed).

Hoping to revive this thread with some current info. I'm trying to find a spot with carp site fishing in Sacramento either from the bank or paddleboard. I can mountain bike in if needed. I live and work in West Sac and have fished Lake Washington a decent amount but have not seen carp there.

Wondering about the ponds at Sacramento Bar? I guess Bannister Pond and the ones adjacent to it? They look good on google earth. When people talk about the dedger ponds at Lake Natoma, is it primarily the biggest one? The edge look very brushy.

I looked at Lisbon Canal yesterday and it was very muddy. Drove through West Lake today after reading posts about carp in Natomas and it was all fenced and gated.

I have seen Carp in the pond at Sacramento Bar Pond, but they are hard to get them to bite without tipping them off. Carp are smart & are a bit cautious.

Carp are tough. There are lots of carp out there but not a lot of catchable carp. I motored are around Berryessa a bit today looking for catchable ones and saw none. I keep my eyes open for catchable carp but don’t see them often.

Thanks for the replies. I've seen them cruising Berryessa a lot like you say, have never seen them eating though.
