I guess what this shows is that presented with an opportunity, anyone can be corrupted by the influence of $$$$$.... Wonder what other schemes he may've been involved in that were never uncovered. At the very least, the state should support a thorough review of any work this guy performed where ever he worked.

'Special Permit'= the one you paid $5,000 dollars for ... that makes it special .

Now - here's the flaw to mlpa's .... if you pay , you're good . That includes a commercial fishing permit (Used to be $6,000. , if I'm not mistaken) so you can trawl/gillnet/hook&line around the boundaries of said mlpa , all day/every day , taking up to your catch quota(nevermind all that dead bycatch ...). But - have a normal sportfishing license , and head out to C&R a few Fish ... and you are a criminal .

Insane .
