This is a good chance to buy a nice new quality bamboo fly rod that is impregnated with resin so water will not affect it very much.

Lots of these are larger line sizes but still great rods.

8' #6 line would be cool.....

The most popular size bamboo fly rod today is a 7'6" #4 line in 2 pieces. Over 8 feet they get pretty heavy.

If you buy a longer, larger line size split cane fly rod be sure to get a fly reel that is heavy enough to balance it right.

Thanks Mr. Kiene for the positivity.

I revised the list after selling a couple to a board member, he agreed the 8' 6WT was cool.
We meet up and cast it with a WF 5 WT, sweet. We both really liked the Seven Three, it is super smooth . We were surprised that we like the Deluxe, it was an excellent caster, powerful with a nice touch.

If anyone is in the market for an Orvis Bamboo rod these rods from flygut are great quality and he is a pleasure to work with. I just bought two from him. Tim C.

I would like to echo Tim's comment about buying a rod from flygut. I bought one when he first posted on another site and have been very happy with the deal and with the rod.
