    Default San Diego Guide Rec?

    Will be down in San Clemente on vacation in early August, and was wondering if anyone had personal experience with some of the inshore guides around San Diego / Mission Bay. A friend and I will be fly fishing, but my sons (15 and 9) will likely be more comfortable with light spinning gear, though my older son is capable with the long rod. Any ideas on a guide that might accommodate our "mixed group"?

    hw,
    Google search will yield a number of guides. The one that I know is Peter Piconi;

    His shop is near the bay in the Liberty Station area; the old Naval Training Center, near the airport.
    Peter is very passionate about his craft and would probably accommodate your boys.
    BTW, there is a population of smaller bonefish in SD Bay.
    Best,

    Fished with Piconi a couple of times. Did a bay trip once, where my partner used spinning gear. Peter is tuned in to conventional also. I hooked a halibut that day and landed a small bone.
