Default Info on Chester, Ca area

Is there anything going on that way? New to Cali and fly fishing. Going to camp for a few days northwest of chester. Just wondering if anyone has a few hints to put us in the right direction. The map shows lots of options. Just not sure how good. Thanks

There is a fly shop in Chester I would stop by there and get a few flies and local info. Many creeks open this weekend.

You're right lots of areas to fish. It matters on what you want to do. Stream fish or lake fish, dry flies or nymphs. If you like stream fishing - Warner creek and the North For of the Feather above Chester is a great place - willing trout that come far for dries. I use my Tenkara rod up there. If you're into lake fishing Lake Almanor is starting to fish. Pons Smelt on Hoover lines has been great in Goose bay. Blood Midge and the wasp hatch are starting also in Goose bay. Don't forget all the Caribou lakes, Butt Valley and Antelope is fishing good!!

    Have fun!
