Truckee River Fishing Report

If you plan on fishing the Truckee Rv. soon, here's a quick accurate report.

Truckee River:

The flows on the Truckee Rv. are: 732@ Boca, 661@ Mogul.

The River is in outstanding shape, with the good flows comes good hatches. Today at 1:00pm on the California side March Brown mayflies starting coming off. Darker nymphs like the #14 "Carotene" and #14 "Sweet Pea" were very effective. If you are not familiar with these patterns, you should do very well with your favorite March Brown imitation. Yesterday on the Nevada side it was also the March Browns and just like today the fish were on them. Presentation is very important, when you get the right drift that produces, try to repeat the same drift in the same type of water. Fish your drifts thoroughly before moving on, but keep moving to new water. Be careful while wading, use a wading staff if necessary. Go out and fish, have fun and enjoy yourself !
