Red face Shad on the American

Just wanted to join in on the reports. I was fishing yesterday for stripers( only caught a few small ones, saw a dead 12 pounder hanging from a boat) and saw a school of shad. We rowed up stream of them, anchored and proceeded to catch some nice size hens. With the flow pulses these next few days, shad should be located from the mouth to at least Gristmill. Tight lines.

C'mon, Andy - isn't the shad forum where you brag about specific numbers, what fly you named after yourself you caught it on, etc? And you consider yourself a professional in this biz?

*Numbers tell us how good the run is.
*Fly pattern names tells us what to catch them on being so many flies do exist already.
*You are a pro when you stand between two guys and catch 25 fish and encourage the guys next to your to come back and have some fun doing it right because they caught only a few fish

Smitty last year and this year you have to really work the water so regardless you have to know your stuff to get fish period. Presentation and what part of the water to fish. I can do a whole write up but it will be to long. There is lots I have learned in the last year. So to point you still have to know your stuff. Last night I watched a kid fish an area and nothing yet I managed to get hat I would say is a good number being I learned how to get after these fish. In years when there are loads ya it's easy but then the years with low numbers well you gotta learn some tactics.

But what ever floats your boat and makes them feel better.

So far I'm having fun catchin some fish can't complain!
