Default Got any big trips planned for 2014?

We will be heading north this summer, RVing up into Oregon.

I have lots of good friends and family who moved up there over the past few decades.

The variety of quality fly fishing up there is mind boggling.

Smallmouth Bass in rivers......Umpqua, John Day & Grande Ronde

Largemouth Bass in lakes........all over, even along the coast.

    Steelhead......tons of great rivers

    Searun Cutts....along the coast

    Salmon........3 species

World class shallow weedy trout lakes......Lakes that are small, medium and large in size

    Surf fishing..........clamming & crabbing too.

    Inshore fishing......mostly salmon

Some Stripers too........Lower Umpqua & Smith.

I have lots of fond memories fly fishing up in Oregon since 1976.

these are my last few months out here before i move to Missoula in July so i'm planning on hitting my local bass ponds HARD, and have a couple trips to the sierras planned. so far i'm heading up to the upper middle fork of the American for some tough hike in fish out camping. then in June i'm headed to the Sonora pass for my yearly birthday/fly fishing trip with my brother. when i head out in July i'm making the drive to Missoula a 2 week trip so i can stop at the Big lost river in Idaho and camp out at the Beaverhead in Montana. i cant wait, it looks like another year of making friends and family a little jealous .

New Brunswick/Quebec in August - Atlantic Salmon and Brookies
Backpack in Sierra for 5 days in September - Still my favorite of all listed above

Float tubing some awesome lakes in Desolation- in planning stage.
Hike into Grouse Ridge area to fish secret spots- multiple trips.
Pit, Upper Sac, as usual in late May/June.

Nothing out of state, unless I turn to a life of crime. Hmmm.

I'm hoping to hit Butt Valley. Haven't fished it in a couple of years.

EO, Grouse Ridge is a yearly pilgrimage for me.
"For years, every time he stopped at the house to collect his paper money, it was the same routine. The old man in the wheelchair would ask him how he'd like it if he took him fishing and showed him a few things. He always said he'd like that.
When the old man finally passed away, his wife gave the kid a box of flies. He has them today, tucked away in a closet, never to be fished."

No BIG trips planned this year, just the normal 100+ days of fishing like normal. Bunch of back country trips, more Tenkara fishing. And more than likely a certain somebody will make me go hiking to some place that will probably kill me like he does every year.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

No big fishin trips. but I do plan to wade the flats of Lake Michigan for big carp at least a couple times. I also would like to land some serious Muskellunge this year... and just generally fish more.
