Stripping basket for wading the American

Do any of you guys use a stripping basket when wade fishing for stripers? Granted I'm just starting out fly fishing for them, but I am having problems with the longer casts when my my line is drifting around in the current below my legs. Any input is appreciated.

i always use a basket when in the surf or wade fishing. get/make with "fingers" in basket, prevents line tangles/twisting; you can you tube for examples on making or buy direct form a fly shop.

I saw this awhile back that looks interesting. Have not researched reviews but like I said it looks effective
