    Default Rain! Rain!

I was getting more and more zombie like with the sunshine everyday. Horrible stuff when it goes on and on like that...November, December, January...nothing but sunshine and cold. My make-up is one of two season: Rainy and not rainy (having been born and raised on the coast) and this lack of rain seemed cruel and oppressive.

Okay, this really is about Fish....finally the streams and rivers here on the coast are getting some water. The steelhead are taking off their sun hats and sunglasses and heading toward the mouths. I am happy. I hope there is enough for them to get up river and do a little canoodling.

My favorite is fishing in the rain. People ask "are you really going fishing in this downpour" and I reply "the fish are already wet, they don't care about a little rain"

...SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AND RAPIDLY RISING RIVERS IN DEL
    NORTE...HUMBOLDT...AND WESTERN TRINITY COUNTIES...

A SERIES OF SYSTEMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY. THESE SYSTEMS WILL BRING SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AMOUNTS TO
DEL NORTE...HUMBOLDT...AND WESTERN TRINITY COUNTIES. THE
PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TONIGHT IN DEL NORTE COUNTY AND THEN
SPREAD SOUTHWARD AND EASTWARD OVERNIGHT. PERIODS OF RAIN ARE
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY WEDNESDAY AND INTO THE
EVENING. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF SHOWERS LATE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY TUESDAY. THE NEXT ROUND OF
PRECIPITATION ARRIVES THURSDAY EVENING. PERIODS OF RAIN ARE
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT WHEN THE COLD FRONT
    MOVES ACROSS THE REGION.

THE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL RESULT IN RAPID RISES ON AREA RIVERS AND SMALL
STREAMS AND TRIBUTARIES. DURING THE PERIOD THURSDAY THROUGH
SATURDAY...SMALL STREAMS AND TRIBUTARIES MAY OCCASIONALLY EXCEED
THEIR BANKS. LOCALIZED STREET FLOODING IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CLOGGED
STORM DRAINS. IN THE MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN ROCK AND MUDSLIDES ARE
POSSIBLE ALONG HIGHWAYS AND COUNTY ROADS.

FORECAST PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY:

SMITH RIVER BASIN 10 TO 12 INCHES
LOWER KLAMATH RIVER 8 TO 9 INCHES
REDWOOD CREEK 8 TO 9 INCHES
EEL RIVER BASIN 4 TO 5 INCHES
SF EEL RIVER BASIN 4 TO 5 INCHES
MAD RIVER BASIN 5 TO 6 INCHES
VAN DUZEN RIVER BASIN 5 TO 6 INCHES
TRINITY RIVER BASIN 3 TO 4 INCHES

Lol, Be careful what you wish for!
I hope there's no significant damage but enough rain to refill some reservoirs and bring in some fish

    $$
Steelhead gear = $6287, no of adults caught = 3, amortized cost = $2,095.67, beaching that 30" fish and letting it go = priceless

Looks good for you folks to the north.
The fish in the Six Rivers are gonna' be happy and our fish are still wondering where the heck the water is.....not to use too much anthropomorphism.
We will get the tail of these next few storms. We expect 2 - 3 inches out of these same weather patterns. But I'll take it!
