    Jed, JasonB, et al,
    I've heard (read) that the Coachella Valley aquifer "ain't what it used to be." The Las Vegas area is in a similar
    situation. Will the water in our future be costly? Here's a crude analogy ; many of us here @ Kiene remember
    the price of a gallon of gas in the 1950's. We bitch about it and still buy gas guzzlers and drive at low economy-high
    speeds. An article in today's LA Times talks about the GOP's plan to use the drought in upcoming elections.
    House Speaker John Boehner recently was in Bakersfield to jump start this effort. His quote: "How can you favor fish
    over people is something that people from my part of the world never understand."
