The fishing at Pyramid has entered a typical winter pattern where not many fish are being caught but they are some real bruisers. 1 fish a day is good and 5 fish is great. Numerous fish over 10# have been caught over the past few weeks and a couple of 20+# fish as well. I had one day last week where I had 2 grabs all day and landed two fish. A 17# and 11.5# fish. We are seeing a mixture of Pilot Peak fish and Summit fish and I will say the Pilot fish are really hard fighters and almost look like chrome steelhead at times. Top flies for me lately have been Trojan midges, rootbeer midges, popcorn beetles and black wooly buggers. Tui chub patterns are also working.
This fish weighed 17#
This was a 13# fish
This is an exciting time to be a Pyramid Lake junky!
