    Default couple of new things

Well with this severe lack of rain, I have been getting some time at the vise lately. Been working at some married wings for a bit now, and finally starting to have some success. Not perfect by any means, but I think both of these deserve a swim at some point. Hope ya like

    Thumbs up Married Wings....

Very good!!! After doing all of work marrying the wings, I wouldn't want to put it in the water and have a fish destroy the wing....

Those are tied on an AJ #3, and an AJ 3/0 respectively.

Thanks for the kind words folks, glad you enjoy them. I'm hoping a fish or two will as well. I am not at the level of tying for "display purposes" at this point in time. Even if that time ever comes, I can't honestly see how I could NOT take a prized creation for a swim or two. Darian, *if* I get so lucky to have a steelhead mangle the wings of either of those I will be quite ok with it Maybe I'll post a pic... assuming we ever have some water to swing them in, and fish to chase em.

Having never thrown that type of fly, to me it looks like it would disintegrate after a couple swings. Are they tough flies or do you have to use a new one each day.

They are nice looking, but I have just never used that type of fly before, so I am clueless about them.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

    Scott,
To be honest, I've not had the opportunities to really test them out much. I have taken a few smaller ones out for some swings, with wings that were not quite as well married and mounted... in other words they were already a little bunched and coming apart. Those ones held up better than I would have expected, but they certainly are not as durable as one might hope. Thing is they actually look great even when the wing fibers come apart, and I think they will fish quite well still. I have hopes that some of the better tied ones (still to come) will hold up a bit better.
