    Default Sanibel/Captiva Island

Anyone on the board ever fish this area, especially in the December to January timeframe? Specifically want to know if there is any bonefishing in the area. Also, I understand the tarpon fishing is good and they may have permit that time of year.

If so, any info or input would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Randy

Do not know or every fished the area but if you are going there you should read a few of the books by Randy Wayne White, http://www.randywaynewhite.com/Site2/Welcome%21.html.
Fishing is always good, the catching may not be.

    Randy,
I have heard from several that walking the beaches of Sanibel in early morning before the tourists
are out, one can find snook prowling within 10 feet of the shore. Believe this is early spring to early summer
which is out of your time span. Still, might be worth looking into.
    Best,
    Larry S
