    Default My first AR halfpounders

After researching and reading a lot of posts on this forum I finally caught my first AR halfpounders today, swinging a #12 beadhead soft hackle with my 5 weight single hand rod and airflo polyleader. Feels good to finally have some success and I just wana say thanks for all the good info this site provides.

Good job Ryan. We have been picking up a good amount of fish in my clinics with that set up.

For years I have fished a floating fly line with a tapered mono leader that is about the length of my fly rod.

But now I think I am going to take local guide Charlie Gonzales' advice and start using a 10' fast sinking (3.9ips) Poly or Versi leader.

Charlie.....what leader do you use on the end of that sinking leader?

    Thnaks......
