Following up on Darian's report got me to thinking about all of the good fish we've taken in late summer. Maybe it's the lack of shad in the rivers that has put a few of these bigger fish on the bite? (actually there still are shad in the river) Maybe it's simply the lack of people fishing for them? There aren't the big numbers of fish we get in the spring but there are still a few around and sometimes they're big. You have to work for them but a few hours on the water regularly will find you something that'll give you a fun tug.

Here are a few pictures of my buddys and I with fish taken during August and throughout the summer.

Those are just a few summertime stripers we've taken but August, Sept., and into October are still good months. Soon the delta will begin to turn on but don't forget about those fish that stay around up here all year.
