Lipstick
As promised, a fishing post.
I hit up a couple of local ponds this afternoon.
Gorgeous day for it.
I hit 'Nursery' pond first, believing that it's small size would give me a little advantage in finding the little beasts.
And it worked.
My first cast, using a Dragon Bugger caught this spunky Bluegill.
Third cast and out came another.
This went on for about a half a dozen, all about the same size.
Then this showed up.
I then put on a Dead Drift Crawdad and this one grabbed, a bit better.
That about blew the pond, too bad as I was hoping to shoot a pic of the Green Sunfish that also live there, but it just wasn't to be.
I then walked over the hill to the big pond.
I launched the 'cat' for an hour or so, no bites, licks, or even smells. This pond is always difficult until May.
When it started getting cold I bagged it and headed out.
Nothing like a pleasant walk after a pleasant day.
All my fishing was done with a type 3 full sinking line. There won't be any topwater here for a little while yet. It is February after all.
Does anyone know why these bass had red lips?
