    Default Opening day action?

Any reports out there? Saw one redd raper catch one in whore island 2 (upper sunrise) and nothing else.

Myself and flyguy1 swinging with his brother reported one bump, but nothing pinned.

I covered 4 runs, no bumps.

Took the dog for a walk at lower sunrise, 14 boats floated by, nobody that I talked to had touched a thing.

Sitting at work really sucks when you know the fish are in and thinking about fishing. Here's one I'll never forget, epic battle boulder hopping down a few rapids on a small coastal. Nymphing pretty much the only option. Not an opening day fish but an opening year fish, 9 hours in to be exact.

Here is one from this morning (1/2/13) on the hatchery side above Sunrise. Took an "old school" glow bug under an indicator. Bunch of great air time. Saw one other fish landed on conventional gear. Released to swim the last 1/4 mile to the fish ladder. Great way to start 2013! K

Talked with one of the most serious (retired) Steelheaders on the Lower American River today.

He saw over a dozen nice looking adult fish landed opening day.

Showed me a picture of a nice one he landed swinging flies.
