Thank you for the great news! I have reservations for the Preserve in 17 days. It was getting too close for comfort.
Fished the Mac below ash camp on Friday the 5th after learning of it's opening the night before. Still in pretty decent shape. Much of the undergrowth is gone, most trees escaped a serious burn. Should be good for the river, long term. Fishing was still pretty good as the elephant grass is still on the sides. Fishing started a little slow, but picked up throughout the day. lots of little to med bows and the occasional bruiser browns up to about 26". Very positive day all in all, and good to see the river survived more or less intact. If anyone wants to know what was working or a little more detail send me a PM.
