It has been almost a year since I'd last fished the Lower Yuba, so I headed up there yesterday morning. This last summer I fished the Truckee almost exclusively so it was a nice change of pace. The water is remarkably clear. The fish were fantastic fighters and many jumped. While I only managed one fish on a dry fly (hopper), I had better success indicator fishing. Here's one that took a stone fly:

With the flows at about 1,100, I was able to cross the river in several places. That opens up a lot more water to those of us who are wading. Do be very careful picking your location for crossing. The current is much stronger than it would appear.
