    Default Belated Father's Day Trip

My father and I took our Father's Day fishing trip in mid July this year, just a little late due to scheduling issues We usually go up HWY 70 and fish some of the tribs of the Feather. I was bummed that we could only find time to go during the middle of July due to the high chances of very hot days, lower flows and higher water temps, but what can you do?..... and just like I feared the weather was hot , the flows were low and the water temps were high. We, however, persevered and we found ways to pester some fish

We fished one of the tribs on the first day with very limited success. I however did manage to caught the largest fish I have ever caught on that stream. This rainbow was beautiful, with a NICE red streak along it's side. Unfortunately these picture doesn't do the fish justice.

The next day we hit the Feather for most of the day. I was excited that we could break away from the smaller stream trout fishing and go for larger trout that offered more of a challenge for him to battle. He landed this nice fish:

During the middle of the day we took a break and visited a another small tributary. My dad tried his luck on this small plunge-pool stream. Here's a few shots from that beautiful location.

We liked the spot so much we decided to have lunch there.

Later on, in the later part of the day I switched over to an indicator rig and I landed this little fatty:

On the last day my father and I took a hike up into a section of water that was small yet beautiful. Due to the lack-luster flows I took out my camera and barely fished, allowing my Dad to mess around and be my subject for a while here's some fun shots from that morning.

Later on during the last day I got a few pics of my Dad fishing in a nice area.

Overall we had fun spending time together and we got to witness each other catching some good fish. I could have done without the summer heat and the less-than perfect fishing condition we still caught some decent fish, but better yet we enjoyed another Father's Day (no matter how late) father and son fishing trip

    Default Nice

Aloha Adam, I really like that picture of your Dad fishing in the emerald pool. Trout fishing is so much about the place and the friends you share the experience with. Nice job, Don.

Great report Adam....you have a good eye with taking photos. And so cool your
    dad likes fishing as well.

Waders? Yer wearing waders in this heat??? No wonder you're hot!

My compliments on your beer choice. I grew up in Chico and love all Sierra Nevada's beers. My go to is Torpedo. Can't go wrong with 7.2% !!!

Pic #7 makes me happy. He looks like a little kid with a cane pole. And the slow exposure is fantastic.

Thanks guys, I had fun with my Dad. This is the third year in a row that we have planned a trip. The only way that I see us missing a year would be health reasons. I realize that I am lucky to have this time with my Dad

Jay, I was lucky that my Dad appreciates good photos enough to pose for me, and stay still for photos like #7

EO, as far as the waders go, wet wading messes with my feet, so I had to suffer in the waders
