Thread: instant glue for foam

    Default instant glue for foam

I am tying some minnow patterns using 2mm thin foam. I need to form (bend) the foam around the hook shank and glue the foam together to form a body prior to covering with body braid. Any recommendations or advice on an instant glue to use on the foam?

I don't want to tie the entire piece of foam onto the shank as I want the body to be tall and thin like a minnow as opposed to the body being round. Thanks in advance....

    Question Adhesive Foam....

Well,.... any of the epoxy/urethane based adhesives should work and some CA glues, as well. Make sure you test CA glues on a piece of foam before using it. Some will dissolve foam. Shoe Goop probably would work well, too.

I've found that using something like Loco Foam under mylar or EZ Braid tubing works very well. It is backed with adhesive already. Makes very nice Crease and Ron Dong Crease Flies nicely.
