    Default Lower Yuba report

This past Friday I had the pleasure to fish with gianstfan (Blane) from our board. I was happy to hear that he had an Outcast double-seated pontoon boat. We had fun drifting down the river, and Blane graciously rowed for the whole day.... besides my sad attempt to row him down one run, lol. We unfortunately caught all of our fish subsurface, especially when the reports were claiming that it is hopper time. In the shallows I used a dry/dropper rig with a PT dropper. I caught a few fish on a stonefly pattern under an indicator. Blane used a nice self-tie thin mayfly nymph pattern that was productive. Blane caught the biggest fish, a nice 15"er.

The weather was great but unfortunately the fish weren't looking up that day. Hopefully the next time I fish the Yuba the trout might be looking for the hoppers. We had a fun day and it was nice to meet Blane and share a day on the water.

Thanks again for all of your rowing Blane.

Great pictures! I fished the Yuba with Blane once. He let you row!?!? I offered several times but he wouldn't have it. He's one hell of a nice guy.

Blane, let me know if you want to fish again! E Walker maybe?

Jason, he only let me row once.... it may be the only time he does again, since my rowing was at the very best ROUGH, lol. He rowed all day long, I felt like I had to beg him to park the raft so he could get out and fish as well, lol. Blane is a very nice guy! We had a fun time out there and I hope to fish with him more in the future.

Thanks, Adam and Jason, I appreciate the compliments. The next time out, both of you are welcome to row all you want! I'd love to hit the East Walker, Jason. I was just in that area last week fishing Hot Creek and can't wait to go back.
