    Default Feather River Salmon Fishing

Anyone been up the Feather near Oroville and catch any yet?

I might have to make a run up there to see whats going on.

    Default Feather River Salmon

I've been seeing numerous salmon rolling in the lower river while fishing for stripers and shad but haven't looked around the upper section yet.

If it's like last year, the upper section of the low-flow (above Thermolito outlet) will be closed to salmon fishing.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the input here. I remeber the good old days when I would go up there with Frank Alessio and have fun catching them fish of course only catch and release. Seems like those kind of days are over now. I will try some spots I remember for them salmon about 1-2 miles down from Thermolito outlet.

Well I was out tonight on the feather and damn water was super high and winds about 10-15 miles an hour not good for fly fishing! I will keep track of the water flow and get back out again when its better. I was in a spot that is in the pictures that had quite a few fish jumping all afternoon and evening. Its just impossible to get to with out a boat!

    Here are some pics.

And this is me trying to cast in 10-15 mph winds hahahaha
