Default Guide Recommendation for the Rogue?

Business partner is planning a trip up mid July. I may join him and we have no guide contacts for the Rogue. Assuming the summer steelies should be OK then? Maybe the N. Umpqua also. Thanks for the recommendations~ John

    Rich Zellman

The N. Umqua and Rogue are his home waters.

Are you swinging or fishing under the bobber?

There are restrictions on the North Umpqua, not to mention very few guides (Zellman is one, Scott Howell is another).

Scott Howell, Tony Wratney, and Rich Zellman are all first class on the Ump. If there's a choice between the 2 I'd head for the Umpqua for a chance at skating up a fish. If you're stuck on the Rogue then Hazlett is a good guy for sure.

Call Will at the Ashland Fly Shop. A great guy that should be able to help you out.

Very helpful, thanks to all. I've passed the names along. Not sure I'll make it but he will and I know he will enjoy either or both of these fine waters. I've never fished either, hope to soon.
