    Default Rogue Holy Water

Fished this AM and very few salmon flies coming off. Hooked about 13-14 fish and landed 9 from 10-18"s. here is one of the better fish. All rainbows.

Larry: six weight, nine foot and using a Size 6 dry salmon fly imitation. The takes are very splashy.

I was up there last week and had a blast. I fished the Holy Water section a few times and did pretty good, I caught fish all week on salmonflies.

I actually floated the main part of the river below the hatchery with Jim Andras one day and caught cutthroat on dries all day. Those fish are a blast, very aggressive and strong. And May I just add that Jim Andras is a fantastic guide and I had an absolute amazing day on the water with him.

Jim Andras is an excellent fly fishing guide. He works on the Rogue River, Klamath River, Trinity River and the Sacramento River. He has a jet boat and a drift boat so he can do it all......

Holy Waters was a pretty unique stretch of water to fish, especially if you opt to take on the mist from the dam. I have never seen combat fishing like they were off the rock walls below the hatchery on free fishing weekend.

Gordon, throwing big dries for big trout sounds like a great way to spend a day. Thanks for making me green with envy

Adam: Keep selling cameras while I fish. Off to Klamath/Agency tomorrow but all subsurface and BIG. Someday you will be retired too.
