    Default Photo of a lifetime

I was fishing on the Nehalem River in Oregon with guide Scott O'Donnell in early
April this year when he managed to snap this amazing shot.

This fish jumped about 10 times which is probably why Scott was able to capture this action shot. Used a 7 wt with a Rio Skagit Flight and a 50/50 MOW T-11 Tip and a big black green butt tube fly. Blue floating butt of the MOW tip is mostly inside my rod tip.

Managed to land this fish on the last cast of the day.

Now I have to remember to keep the big fat line out of the way when posing the fish.

Scott O'Donnell is a great guide who will work tirelessly with you to improve your casting skills. If you want a chance at a hot coastal Oregon steelhead, I highly recommend Scott as a guide.

Very cool shot! And great fish. I personally dont mind the line in front of the fish. Adds some abstract curviture to the shot. Looks great!!

Bruce S and I have been fishing with Scott for quite a few years both on the coast and on the Grande Ronde - truly a wonderful friend who has done more to help my skagit casting than anyone! We got rained out this spring with him but are heading for afloat on the GR next fall

    Great shots and congrats!!!!
