Went to Echo Lake over the weekend for what started as a ski trip. As the temperature skyrocketed, there was a decent amount of water exposed on the north side of the lower lake and at the far West end of the lake where the outflow from the upper lake enters.

I didn't fish much (and at the wrong times) because of all our other activities, so no hits. I think the first trout of the season could be caught up there in the shallows in morning or evening though.

If anybody goes, be very careful with the ice. It was safe on Friday but already dicey around the edges on Sunday! Probably better to snowshoe into the lake and then just hike around the north side of the lake, following the PCT route.
