Default Small to medium Steelhead in the A....

There are steelhead in the American river from 10 inches to 3-4# now.

Try from Sailor Bar down stream to Goethe Park.

Try caddis pupa or small BH olive rabbit strip streamers.......

Afternoons might be nice with the caddis hatching. (when the sun is shinning)

My friend who reported this to me said no one is out there?

I hooked a decent one a few weeks ago but lost it. Saw a few really nice fish jump too but it's been kind of cold for any caddis hatches lately. I located the fish because it jumped about 4' out of the water chasing caddis.
"Did you catch anything".........."No, did you"........

"Hey man, mind if I fish here?"....."Yes"...."Thanks man!"

Hit the A on Wed for several hours. Noticed the flows had jumped a bit to 1400 cfs.

Saw two gear guys but that was it.

Swung leeches, caddis pupa, birds nest and a few others. Had a half pounder on briefly and then popped the hook. Looked to be around 14 inches.

That was it for the day. No other tugs or taps. Caught some good rays and first tan of the year. Well, it's a semi-burn.

    Default Skunk

Fished AR three times in last week or more and same result. Very little activity, first time skunked in four months and skunked three times if there are fish they are very few and far between

I don't think we had a very good spring run but some fish have been hooked.

If the sun is up try getting deep down into the fast runs.
