B.C. Steelhead Trip

I wanted to ask for anyone's personal experiences they've had goping to British Columbia for steelhead.

I'm interested in recommendations of locations, lodges/guide services
tips in what they would do different, lessons learned kind of stuff if you were to go back.
any good or not so good events that took place
travel arrangements
Best time of year to go, etc. etc.

I'm looking to travel likely this fall.

If you could get a spot, either Stuarts or Hodsonn on the Dean R. the first or second week of Sept. Skating dry flies to those unbelievably beautiful, hardest fighting steelhead will take your breath away, literally as you chase them. I've been there three times during that week and never disappointed. It's been quite a few years since I was there last so I don't know about the health of the fishery or availablilty of those camps. Maybe some else out there can help with that.

It's probably to late to start planning a bc trip for this fall most of the good lodges operate on a seniority system and somebody literally almost has to die for you to get a spot.

New regs for certain steelhead streams recently became active. Big change is no
weekend fishing for non-Canadians - or maybe non-BC'ers.

Upper Dean Lodges are pretty hard to get into ever....and $$$

Lower Dean River Lodges are a little easier and a little less expensive.

Well, I was able to find a week in mid-September by a cancellation.
Or go in mid-August?

Any opines as to which is likely better timing for steelhead on the Skeena?

If its on the Lower Dean below the canyon you dont want to fish in september most of the fish will be by you than. If it one of the lower lodges go in August.
