    Default American Tomorrow Morning 3/9/12

I have decided to drive down to Sac tonight to pick up some fishing gear (stored at my folks house in Sac) for my trip next weekend to the Eel. I have now decided to bring my wading gear and spey stuff to go chase after some fun half-pounder action tomorrow morning.

Does anyone want to meet up with me tomorrow morning for a session in the pursuit of
    half-pounders?

If so send me a PM and we'll see if our schedules coincide.

I'll be the guy at Sailor Bar or Lower Sunrise this morning in an orange hat with a Spey rod if you're out there and you see me say hi

Unfortunately nobody had the time to go fish with me but it sure was nice to get out and fish the American considering the last time that I fished it was over a year ago. I got to Sailor Bar around 7:30 or so, there was only one other guy out there then. he was nymphing and I didn't see him hook anything. I brought my 12'8" 7wt Scott ARC (love that rod) and began to swing only about 15 minutes into swinging my #10 brindle bug I hooked and landed this guy:

It wasn't very big but it was fun.

I also landed a smaller one, no need for photos

The spring flowers were nice out there yesterday

I only caught 2 yesterday before 11am, when I had to leave, but I have a bunch of fun swinging with my spey rod.

BTW, If you haven't tried spey fishing and you like to sing flies you NEED to try it out!!!

A fish is a fish Adam, that is my motto. Size is almost irrelevant to me anymore.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
