Slow at best.
RFT
Last Saturday for about 7 hr at Wino. No fish hooked, 2 bumps for our group of four all pulling a variety of streamers. Saw only one fish hooked and landed out of the heart of the hole. A real solid fish around the 9-10lb mark to fellow from Redding, his best fish which was great a see (it was his only fish of the day I think). Lots of coming and going by others which gave me the generally slow impression.
I just posted a new report in the general fly fishing section.

Rob,
Thanks, makes sense that it has to get a little stirred up.
Do you know anything about the "dragonfly nymph migration"? I know there a lot of them in there and heard a story about them moving to?/from? deeper water in Jan/Feb. Have had luck on occasion around this time with heavily hacked brown/black buggers sitting on a weedbed, would land fish with a ton of weeds in their mouth. Maybe the weeds slid down the line, but it felt like the takes were while the fly was in the junk.
There are a ton of Dragon flies in the lake. Not much for weeds though. Personally I think they move out into deeper water and then move toward shore in the spring to hatch. I have caught fish when I know for sure I had weeds on my fly. But it's cutthroats so who knows. Maybe we should tie some flies out of weeds. Oxygen levels in Pyramid very a lot. The alkalinity plays a big part. I am hoping that the fish are fat and happy somewhere and will show up soon. In the back of my mind I am worried about the stocking practices over the past few years and I hope that it is not starting to take affect on the numbers. Hope to hell I am wrong. We shall see.
Friend of Mine caught a 13.2 yesterday. Weighed it in a net and released it unharmed. Only grab of the day. I'll take it
Another big fish on Sat: 19.5 LB, 34.5" male on a jig (bonked), pic from inside Crosby's on the Pyramid Lake Fisheries facebook
might be the big fish of the year
Winter storms are good for fishing Pyramid Lake for the big ones.....

Bright sun, no wind and no clouds is not good.
