Retired Big Valley Guide Charlie Gonzales is creating new delectable grub at One-Speed Pizza an idyllic local east sac eatery that I frequent whenever I fish the american. Charlie doesn't get to fish too often anymore because he is too busy feeding ME! One Speed's menu is so terrific that my wife INSISTS on coming with me after fishing. One Speed is a spinoff of the famous Waterboy Restaurant in mid town Sacramento. Try the awesome fire baked pizzas and crostinis! Relax in their shaded outside dining area or their fully stocked bar! And of course say Hi to "Loco Gonzo" for me.

While on the water with Charlie I landed:

1st fish on a dry fly (19" bow on the Yuba)
1st LMB on a fly (on the A)
1st striper on a fly

Charlie helped me with casting, especially throwing big striper flies and heavy heads...

He also met me at the shop and helped me get set up with really good decisions on lines for a few of my rods. He didn't have to do that kind of stuff, but that's how he is.

and...he's a heck of a chef...Haven't been to One Speed, but if I get a chance I'll sure drop in. I miss fishing with him...
