I fished the EW Friday and Saturday with mixed results. Friday the crowd was the worst I've experienced. Even with the crowd, I found a few open runs with rising fish, well below the most popular areas. Saturday there were fewer people but the fishing was slower for me. I had the most success w/ size 20 BWO dries.
Friday I hooked about 25 fish, Sauturday about 12.
My question is; Where did all the hatchery Rainbows come from? I caught 4:1 ratio of 'Bows to Browns. Most were fin-clipped hatchery fish. In the last 5 years I've caught 10 Browns to every one Bow. In one bend there were at least 75 Rainbows stacked up like you see on the West Carson. Did they plant these fish or did they wash down from the reservior?
