Default Advice on how to catch this big brown

So, I'm going fishing this weekend. On this particular river, I have seen a GIANT brown trout in one particularly large and deep pool. I'd guess 50 feet wide 100 feet long and probably 20+ feet deep. This guy has actually come up from the depths and swallowed a 14 inch brown I was reeling in on the surface of the water. The second time I saw him, he came up and ate a bug or something off the surface. He is huge, well over 24 inches.

I'd like to make some attempt to try and catch him. I know it's not likely, but gotta try. So... my thoughts are to imitate another trout, flailing in the upper column of the water. (from surface to about 10 feet deep) And to fish it in the late evening.

    Any other advice is appreciated.

Get a big black streamer and fish at night.

Assuming there is some current in the pool...if you're not against bobicating you might want to try throwing some serious meat at the end of a 12-15' leader and twitching it through the pool on a dead drift. Also, you could throw a small downstream mend so that the line/indicator is ahead of the fly and is leading/draging the streamer through the pool a little. Just a few thoughts...

    Default Afghan fishing

This is the Afghan version of the Dupont spinner. Not very selective, though.

If its legal in that river, like someone else said, big, black rabbit streamer after dark. If its daylight only, maybe try a big, baby trout pattern with a white belly/olive back, or white w brown back. Fish at first light or dusk if youre lazy.

Treat it like a Striper. Use a big Clouser, and give it some life.

Pretty much the truth unless you want to use live bait.

Low light level with a big streamer/leech......
